ORLANDO – Kony Solutions, the leading mobile application development platform (MADP) provider, today announced that it has been named a Visionary by Gartner, Inc. in Gartner’s recent report on Mobile Application Development Platforms.1
Mobile application development has become a top concern for enterprises and their CIOs, and Gartner predicts that by 2015, 80% of all mobile applications developed will be hybrid or mobile-Web-oriented. Gartner also reports that “in previous years, enterprises tended to evaluate mobile application development platforms based solely on the needs of their current mobile projects. However, increasingly enterprises look for a single MADP that can address most, if not all, of their future projects across all scenarios.”
Gartner’s recent survey of CIOs finds that 61% plan to enhance their mobility capability during the next three years, and 48% believe they will become leaders in their industries by fully adopting innovative mobility solutions.
“We believe our positioning in the visionaries quadrant is a confirmation of our strategy to ‘empower everywhere’ and take the complexity and hassles out of mobile deployments. We feel this report demonstrates that Kony is one of just a few true leaders in the mobile industry, having made significant progress in execution and vision from last year,” said Raj Koneru, CEO of Kony. “The KonyOne Platform, combined with our partner and developer ecosystem and our unique SLA, give us the most robust portfolio of mobile offerings in the industry. And our upcoming technology offerings for BYOD will serve to reinforce our strong market position.”
In its new MADP report, Gartner also states: “Unlike some of its competitors, Kony has not grown through acquisitions. Kony has shown strong revenue growth and the ability to win customers in a wide range of industries and countries. The vendor's development environment enables applications to be built for all popular tablets, smartphones and feature phones, as well as for mobile and desktop Web browsers. This gives Kony one of the widest addressable audiences for its applications among vendors profiled in this research.”
Kony’s flagship product is its KonyOne mobile enterprise application platform. Kony’s patent-pending “Write Once, Run Everywhere” technology enables developers to deploy their apps across more than 10,000 mobile smartphones/tablets/kiosks and operating systems from a single codebase. All Kony applications can be delivered in native and mobile web (HTML5 and non-HTML5), across every mobile channel. Kony offers the mobile industry’s most comprehensive Service Level Agreement, ensuring support for new versions of existing platforms or OS within 30 days of code release, and within 90 days for any new device or OS.
