Keeping it Cool in the Field

Armies of service personnel are out there, working night and day to keep your veggies fresh, keep your cold brew cold, and tend to the daily “mission-critical” refrigeration needs of grocery stores. More than 1,000 of these field personnel work for Source Refrigeration, which serves thousands of leading grocery retailers nationwide, and, we are pleased to announce, has recently become a Kony customer.

We will be working with our strategic partnerSoftechnologies to build a new mobile field service solution for Source, so they can broaden the types of devices their mobile technicians can carry, while streamlining field service from the initial customer call, through scheduling and dispatch, to work order provisioning and management.

Source Refrigeration VP of IT Hal Kolp says, “The Kony solution gives us options for a wider variety of devices in the field, including iPhones, which are increasingly popular with our workers. It’s the type of multi-channel capability that will enable our field technicians to be productive from any location, over any network, for any task.”

Previously, Source relied on a mobility platform that limited the company’s ability to push work orders, parts lists, route information, and alerts to its mobile workforce. By migrating to the Kony + Softechnologies solution, Source expects to improve field force productivity by giving technicians access to mobile apps and devices that are easier to learn and use. Additionally by ensuring field service workers have instant access to detailed, updated information, Source will strengthen its ability to deliver high first-time fix rates and excellent customer satisfaction.
