Kony Highlights Multi-Channel Mobility Solutions for Healthcare Industry at AHIP’s Operations and Technology Forum

Multi-Channel Centers of Excellence Empower Organizations to Deliver Next-Generation Application Experiences To Grow Business, Engage Customers

ORLANDO – Kony, Inc., a leading enterprise mobility company, has released its 2013 overview of mobile opportunities for the healthcare industry, including the ability to build customer loyalty, deliver patient-centric outcomes and improve collaboration at hospitals through application experiences. To achieve this, Kony emphasizes a multi-channel approach for the development of applications that engage both customers and employees. The company has also announced it will be speaking at America’s Health Insurance Plans’ (AHIP) Operations and Technology Forum on Wednesday, November 20, 2013 on the topic of how organizations can strategically develop and implement Multi-Channel Centers of Excellence.

Today, healthcare organizations have recognized the growth in customer demand for access to member services, patient engagement and health and wellness tools. According to a January 2013 survey of providers conducted by eClinicalWorks, 93 percent of physicians believe mobile health applications can improve a patient’s outcome. Additionally, a May 2013 Ponemon Institute study found that replacing physicians’ and nurses’ pagers with secure “mobile notifications” could effectively reduce internal delays and cut patient discharge times by 50 minutes. Despite the benefits of engaging with both patients and hospital staff members via mobile, many organizations struggle to develop multi-channel strategies in a fragmented mobile environment.

“Healthcare organizations have a unique opportunity in today’s mobile-centric world to attract new consumers and then engage them in proactive care,” said Matt Brown, vice president of healthcare solutions at Kony. “Take the vast changes happening in the industry due to the Affordable Care Act, which is providing a whole new consumer market, for example. Despite the opportunities, we’ve typically seen siloed approaches to multi-channel application development. In order to overcome these challenges and succeed in a competitive market, organizations must deliver engaging experiences that provide consumers with access to the data, features and functions they demand.”

To quickly and effortlessly design, develop, deploy and manage application experiences that deliver value at every stage of the member lifecycle, Kony highlights a multi-channel approach. The company recently released the Kony Multi-Channel Experience Cloud, which is its cloud-based platform that is reinventing the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and is enabling organizations to deploy applications across any digital channel from a single code base. This allows healthcare organizations to keep pace with today’s constantly changing mobile technology and deliver superior user-first experiences with significantly lower total cost of ownership (TCO) and faster time-to-market. With the Kony Multi-Channel Experience Cloud, healthcare providers can design and develop multi-channel applications to standardize and automate healthcare data, streamline communications and collaboration at hospitals between patients, doctors and nurses. Additionally, Kony Healthcare provides ready-to-run applications for healthcare payers that enable users to shop for new plans, manage their existing plans and benefits, refill prescriptions, research providers and more from any phone, tablet or desktop.

At this year’s Operations and Technology Forum (taking place November 18-20, 2013 in Chicago, Illinois), Kony will speak on the topic of “Developing and Implementing a Multi-channel Center of Excellence: It’s Not Just About Mobile.” In the session, which will take place on Wednesday, November 20, 2013 at 11:55 a.m. in the room Columbus CD, Kony will conduct a deep dive on leading payer organizations that have made a strategic decision to implement a Multi-Channel Center of Excellence and have dramatically transformed their enterprise development.
