AppPlatform V8 Service Pack 1 Release
Maintenance window: December 18, 2017 00:01 to 04:00Cloud Management Console
Add support for API Management features of Kony Fabric in on-premises version. Users will be able to create Developer Portals and add oAuth servers on the Active Directory and UserStore identity services in their on-premises instances.
Add support for testing services with Pre and Post processors from Kony Fabric Console. Users will be able to see detailed logs of steps involved in the service invocation.
Provide ability to download documentation of Object Services from Kony Fabric Console.
Add support for using HTTP Verbs other than POST to access Kony Fabric APIs. API Management users can define their front-end APIs with required HTTP verbs.
Add support for accessing App Factory Testing Console from Kony Fabric Console.
Provide ability to republish individual Integration and Object services and application from API Management View.
Remove Repeat Users standard report.
Kony Server
Add new interface to define custom Configuration parameters from Admin Console. Users can define a set of key values pairs in admin console which can be accessed from Pre and Post processors.
Provide ability to download OpenAPI(Swagger) definition of services from Admin console.
Add support for metrics on Objects services. Users can configure reports to track the use of Object services.
⚠️ Any existing Clouds containing Kony Integration server runtime environments will not be affected during the maintenance window. If you wish to upgrade, please open a support ticket, specifying your Cloud(s), desired version (v8.1), and desired maintenance window(s) for when we can apply the upgrade.
Management services
Remove references to Blackberry from Management Console.
Add Language Settings to permission set.
Provide an option to export data in MS Excel format from event log.
Remove SAFE Device Call and SMS Log features (As announced in 7.3.2 release).
Add iPhone 10 support for Enterprise Store.
Change EMM product version number format.
Improve performance of navigation between tabs in Enterprise Store.
Change Android - Device Restriction Policy - Default values for some of the SAFE device restrictions.
Fix internal bugs.
⚠️ An Enterprise Store upgrade is required.
Offline Objects
Offline Objects API calls now send metrics data for reporting.
Error handling has been significantly enhanced and errors from native layers are also percolated to Javascript layer for app developer to handle in client code.
Uploading data from client to server using Offline Objects can now be batched based on records being uploaded.
Offline Objects now support encryption of the SQLite database used for storing the data offline in device.
Offline Objects has added support for cascade delete feature. Child objects will also be deleted on the client when a parent object is deleted to avoid creating orphan records on client.

We anticipate that Management services will be unavailable for a portion of the maintenance window. Other affected services listed above will not be affected. [2017-12-14 17:08 UTC] Engagement services will not be included in the v8 service pack 1 release. Therefore, there will now be no impact to availability or performance of Engagement services during this deployment.

Identity Services - degraded performance for some Virginia customers

Impact Level : high
[12:33 UTC] Resolved. Between 7:15 and 7:49 UTC, Identity services for some customers in Virginia (in cluster 1) suffered significant performance degradation, which would have led to timeouts. Performance has since been restored. We have determined the root cause attributed to the system reaching capacity, which has been addressed by re-sizing to provide additional capacity. Systems are performing well after additional capacitiy has been introduced and we are not anticipating any performance issues.
Identity Services - degraded performance for some Virginia customers

Impact Level : high
[19:43 UTC] Resolved. Between 14:20 and 14:58 UTC, Identity services for some customers in Virginia (in cluster 1) suffered significant performance degradation, which would have led to a high frequency of timeouts. Performance has since been restored. We have determined the root cause attributed to unscheduled load testing performed by one of our internal teams and have taken corrective action to minimize future occurrences.
Engagement and Management Services Hotfixes

Fix SMS message pushes stuck at initial state when sending large quantities of messages (50,000+) in a batch.

Fix users not being able to download specific child apps uploaded through Kony EMM console.
Launchpad upgrade is not required.
Impact Level : high
We estimate that Engagement services may be unavailable for a large portion of the maintenance window. There are no impacts to Management services. Scheduled maintenance is designed for minimal disruption of service availability when possible.
[November 17 15:00 UTC] After further review, there would be significant impacts to one of our customers in the Oregon region if the Engagement services hotfix was applied in Oregon during the maintenance window above. We will instead be applying the Engagement services hotfix in Oregon today beginning at 15:00 UTC. We do not anticipate that Engagement services in Oregon will be unavailable during this time. There will be no impact to Engagement services customers in other regions at this time either.
