Cloud Management Console Release

V8 Fixes

Maintenance window: November 6, 2017 00:01 to 04:00
The maintenance window start and end times are local to the region in which your Clouds are hosted. If you are unsure where your Clouds are hosted, you can hover over a Cloud Name in the Manage Clouds page of the Cloud Management Console and the region will be displayed.
Impacted Cloud services:
  • Engagement services

    • Fixed an issue where if ‘%’ was used in title of a push message the title would be truncated.

    • Performance optimizations: Broadcast Push flow with segments has been modified for performance improvements.

    • Conversion of priority pushes to non-priority when number of pushes sent in one request is more than the assigned batch size.

  • Identity services

    • Fix IP Address Logging issue for Custom Identity

    • Fix ‘Cannot set Header. Response already committed’ error message on Identity Nodes logs

  • Management services

    • Fix iOS App store page not refreshing and showing “installing…” status even after child app installation has been completed.

    • A Launchpad update will be available to resolve the issue above. Please open a support ticket after the deployment to let us know when you would like to schedule the application of the Launchpad update to your tenant.

    • Stabilization and defect fixes

Engagement and Management Services Hotfixes

    • Fix issue when sending a Push Notification from the console, everything after % is getting cut off from the title

  • Management services

    • Lower Launchpad’s power consumption on Android 7 in background service

    • Fix Launchpad crashes on Android 7

    • A Launchpad update will be available to solve these issues. Please open a support ticket after the deployment to let us know when you would like to schedule the application of the Launchpad update to your tenant.

Cloud Management Console Release

Management Services Release for Fabric V8

Maintenance window: October 9, 2017 00:01 to October 9, 2017 04:00
The maintenance window start and end times are local to the region in which your Clouds are hosted. If you are unsure where your Clouds are hosted, you can hover over a Cloud Name in the Manage Clouds page of the Cloud Management Console and the region will be displayed. ⚠️ Note: Release date is tentative. We will provide updates if there are any changes.
Impacted Cloud services:
  • Management services

    • Sample Device management policies created for high, medium, low restrictions to enable admins to easily set default created policies instead of creating policies from scratch

    • Users can download Enterprise Store authenticated by Identity Service of type Oauth without being navigated to Oauth site via popup

    • Users can also search apps in enterprise store via category names and versions

    • Enterprise store binary name in Android will be same as name provided in Branding page in console

    • Management console login info will be tracked via event logs

    • Event logs feature added to MAM only license mode

    • Users locked in Management system by failed password attempts can be unlocked by admin from management admin console

    • New Report for providing app ratings, reviews, and downloads for enterprise apps

    • Admins can configure an enterprise wipe to be triggered if a user exceeds maximum password attempts in:

    • MAM mode if device is online

    • MAM mode if device is offline

    • MDM mode if device is online

    • MDM mode if device is offline

    • Enterprise Store upgrade is required in this release for both iOS and Android

    • Kony support for new OS versions will be provided within 30 days of GA OS releases

    • The current Enterprise store in cloud has been found to be compatible with Android O. No hotfix would be released for Android O compatibility

    • iOS 11 general availability tentatively late September

The scheduled maintenance is designed for minimal disruption of service availability; however, it is possible for your service(s) to be unavailable for a short period of time during the maintenance window. Please note that Management services will require an Enterprise store upgrade.

[2017-09-14 03:45 UTC] Release has been rescheduled to October 9th. Current Enterprise store in cloud has been found to be compatible with Android O so no hotfix would be released for Android O compatiblity.

Fabric Logic SSL Certificate Update

Maintenance window: October 7, 2017 00:01 UTC to October 7, 2017 04:00 UTC

  • Fabric Logic

    • Update SSL certificates for *.logic.konycloud.com (which expires on Oct 7, 13:04:39 UTC)


Impact Level : minor

No downtime is expected for paid customers. Customers evaluating Kony products will see that their MobileFabric trials will be restarted during the maintenance window to pick up the new certificates and may experience a brief disruption of service availability.

Provisioning Services - Redis cluster failure

Incident window: October 6, 2017 06:01 UTC to October 6, 2017 09:53 UTC
Impacted Cloud services:
  • Provisioning services

    • Failure to attach to secondary Redis cluster that was promoted to primary after primary cluster failed


Impact Level :

[11:31 UTC] Resolved. One of our Redis clusters used by our provisioning services failed and a secondary node was promoted as the primary as part of failover. Our provisioning services did not properly attach to the new primary node. After investigation of the failures, related servers were restarted and then properly attached to the cluster. Failed provisioning tasks were manually corrected. Some application deployments may have failed during this time and would need to be retried.

Engagement Services Hotfix - CPU consumption
