Management Services Release for MobileFabric 7.3.2

Maintenance window: July 10, 2017 04:01 UTC to July 10, 2017 08:00 UTC
The maintenance window start and end times are local to the region in which your Clouds are hosted. If you are unsure where your Clouds are hosted, you can hover over a Cloud Name in the Manage Clouds page of the Cloud Management Console and the region will be displayed.
Impacted Cloud services:
  • Management services

    • Changes to Device Settings:

    • Sampling frequency – Modified configurable values to 30 (minutes), 1 (hour), 2 (hours), 4 (hours), 8 (hours), and 24 (hours), with default being 1 (hour). Existing environments with any value set earlier will be set to 1 (hour).

    • Sync frequency – Modified configurable values to 4, 8, 12, and 24 (hours), with default of 24 (hours). Existing environments with value set to below 8 (hours) will be set to 8 (hours).

    • Introduction of a configuration flag to enable/disable AFW (AndroidForWork). There would be no impact to the current configuration. AFW is used only for email device policy in Kony EMM.

    • The above settings would get reflected on enrolled devices if an admin saves Device Settings. Additionally, for iOS, the new settings would be reflected if a user navigates to the Users tab on Enterprise Store while online. For Android, the new settings would be reflected the next time that the Enterprise Store has been upgraded.

    • Deprecated Features (no longer configurable from admin UI from this release):

    • SAFE device communication logs settings from device settings and stats capture from Device Restrictions and from device details. This feature is redundant as EMM Android agent already obtains same data when required.

    • Authentication via OpenID/SAP HCM/OAuth everywhere from console UI. This feature has become redundant with the integration of MobileFabric Identity service as an authentication means to EMM, which can be used to support multiple modes of authentication including these.

  • Enterprise Store upgrade is not required in this release

Impact Level : medium

We anticipate 1 hour of downtime for Management services (EMM) within the maintenance window. The scheduled maintenance is designed for minimal disruption of service availability; however, it is possible for your service(s) to be unavailable for a short period of time during the maintenance window.

Impact Level : minor

No significant downtime is expected. The scheduled maintenance is designed for minimal disruption of service availability; however, it is possible for your service(s) to be unavailable for a short period of time during the maintenance window.

  • Engagement services

    • When APNS certificates are close to expiry, a warning will be shown in the UI. REST APIs to query this data are also added as part of this enhancement

    • On bulk import of users, option to update existing users and insert new users (upsert) added

    • For bulk import of users/geolocations, UI options added to allow upsert, delete + insert, or insert-only (previous default)

    • Updated Twilio integration to use new versions of supported APIs from Twilio. This change is transparent to users / developers

  • Identity services

    • Users can enable Multi factor authentication for MobileFabric Console Logins in Cloud
